Sanders specializes in the treatment of ankle arthritis, lower extremity trauma, and fractures of the ankle and foot calcaneus, talus, and Lisfranc injuries. Due to his own sports-related injury, Dr. Sanders has a special interest in minimally invasive and arthroscopic treatments for sports and athletic injuries to the foot and ankle. Sanders attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville for his bachelor's degree and then earned his medical degree and completed his residency at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. During his final year of residency, he served as the administrative chief resident and earned the Hugh. Hussey award for excellence in teaching by Georgetown University School of Medicine twice. After completing his residency, Dr. He received additional, specialized training for both surgical and non-surgical treatments of foot and ankle injuries and diseases, including total ankle arthroplasty. During both his residency and fellowship, Dr. Sanders treated elite level professional, Olympic and collegiate athletes.

Sanders is an orthopedic surgeon who completed his fellowship and residency at the Mayo Clinic. As a Wichita native, he is excited to bring his training and expertise to his hometown. Sanders specializes in hip arthroscopy, sports medicine surgery, and joint replacement surgery. He uses the latest surgical techniques in treating sports-related injuries. He specializes in knee replacement partial and total and shoulder replacement surgery.
And who will go for us? Send me! As the chief academic officer, his leadership responsibilities include eight academic schools and thirteen departments. He supervises the enrollment management of the dual enrollment program, the international program, the graduate education program, the Center for Academic Excellence including student success and support programs and initiatives, the Learning and Leading program which is a freshmen first year experience, the Global Education program, the Institutional Research and Accreditation department, our university community service and service learning program, the Institute for Economic Education, the Jarrett Library, and the Institutional Technology department. Currently, he is chairing the University strategic planning process and also participates in many aspects of the University including student engagement, development, and athletics.
