As a professional photographer, I'm disappointed with the state of the selfie , the "sexy selfie" in particular. With the sheer amount of "leaked" photos on the Internet , it's infuriating that we're raising the next generation to believe that terribly composed, naked iPhone photos are sexy. For goodness sake, the nude photo used to be an art form, but lately it seems we seem to have forgotten how truly sexy the human body can be in all its subtlety. Lest I sound shame-y, I, too, have been guilty of the full face, full-on boob shot. And guess what? But after becoming more involved in boudoir and portrait photography , I discovered that there are many more exciting ways to increase the mystery of a nude picture without simply flashing your boobs — and guess what? They're super-easy.

Always use natural light
Avoid overhead light
You should get down on your knees every day and thank whichever god you believe in for bringing the iPhone into your hands. Never before has remote foreplay been so easy, making the sexy selfie a standard in hormone-fueled texting. However, not unlike celebrated photographers in the field, mediocrity should not be tolerated. Do you think a National Geographic photographer has ever turned in a badly cropped, out-of-focus picture of an eagle?
With the invention of the cell phone, all our steamy love letters turned into sexting in an instant. Then along came camera phones, which allowed us to send all sorts of pics that would land us on Santa's Naughty List, and then smart phones that opened up a whole new world of apps like Tinder and Snapchat that were practically made for sending steamy pics and messages just by tapping your screen. Sexting has come a long way since its humble roots, and with so many options out there, it can be difficult to figure out exactly what is and is not an ok sext to send. There are lots of things you should always avoid while sexting , but there are also plenty of sexts that should just never see the light of day or your unusually bright phone screen. It may seem frustrating trying to follow all the rules of sextiquette, but trust me when I say that all it takes is a bad dirty message to take a great sexual relationship and turn it sour.
When we feel good about ourselves, we want other people to know about it. When we're feeling particularly hot, we want the person we're hooking up with to see it. And if we're not with them in person, this usually comes in the form of a nude.
