Authorities have not identified the attackers but most commentators have assumed that they were Muslims. French social networks exploded with anger after a young woman was reportedly beaten up by a gang of girls and young women for wearing a bikini in a park. Protesters organised a demonstration in bikinis and other bathing costumes in the park where the attack occurred, in Reims in northern France. Although drizzle and cold winds meant only about a dozen people turned out, hundreds across France responded to a Twitter appeal by the anti-racist organisation SOS Racisme to post images of themselves or others wearing skimpy bathing costumes in public places, under the hashtag jeportemonmaillotauparc I wear my swimsuit in the park. The five attackers, aged 16 to 24, were quickly arrested and the three oldest have been remanded to appear in court in September, while two girls aged 16 and 17 face further questioning. The authorities have not named them but said that they all came from housing estates with large Muslim populations. It is not yet clear whether their unnamed year-old victim was of French or north African origin. When she shouted back, the other girls and young women crowded around and slapped and punched her, police said.

Sounds pretty perfect to us. Interested to find out exactly which swimsuits French girls wear and how to replicate their style, we went straight to the source. We chatted with Anne-Laure Mais , Sabina Socol , Aude Sarkamari , and Sarah Nait —all endlessly chic French girls who filled us in on the styles they avoid and the ones they love to wear. Instead, there are two styles every French girl has in her suitcase: one-pieces and a simple bikini. Makes sense. Want to find our which swimsuits are French girl—approved? I like a really simple cut or retro ones. A classic silhouette feels fresh in lavender and with a shoulder ruffle detail. Over time, I learned what suits me, so I only wear triangle tops and not bandeaus which I believe suit better to smaller breasts. I just love simple bikinis with ties on the briefs and a triangle top.
Inspired by the beloved fairytale princesses we all know and love, our bikinis capture the femininity of your favorite empowered heroines, with an enchanting whimsical touch. Each swimwear design and accessory we create is elegant, flattering, packed with detail, and designed to fit perfectly with the right amount of support. No gaping, pinching, or pulling. We use the highest quality materials, producing each original bikini in California.
